Sliven region is located in southeastern Bulgaria, south of the Balkan Mountains, in a picturesque scenery. With its area of 3544.066 square kilometers it takes 3.19 percent of the territory, which is equivalent to 15th place from 28 districts in the territory of Bulgaria. Sliven stand of 111 km. of Burgas, 185 km. from Varna and 288 km. of Sofia.
In Sliven region live 206 566 inhabitants, which is 2.6 percent of the population of Bulgaria and as the largest city and administrative center it is followed by Nova Zagora, Kotel and Tvarditsa.
