Diadovo

Settlement mound near the village Diadovo is located immediately southwest of the modern village of the village near the well. The mound is one of the biggest in Bulgaria and Europe. Is 18 meters high. This is mainly prehistoric eras - Stone, Bronze Age and so on. It is inhabited in the early Iron Age. In the Early Byzantine period on the mound is a small fortified village with many well-preserved city wall with towers which defended it. In the Bulgarian Middle Ages - XI - XII century on the mound there was a village cemetery. A small church, which is also fully explored.

In 1977, began joint Bulgarian-Dutch archaeological research in the implementation of the Cultural Agreement between Bulgaria and the Netherlands. In 1984 he joined specialists from unimersiteta current in Japan, who continue to work now.
