The regional folklore festival is held in a year of change in the household, depending on the settlements for the hospitality of river Tunja. Establishing continuity of tradition to modernity in regional and national holiday system, natural reproduction of the folk tradition in our time through the holiday are the goals of the organizers. The program includes a fair conduct of competitions for dancing, a competition for folk games, depending on local tradition.

The feast of Sliven is annual and begins four days earlier than actual date October 26. Program from year to year varies but generally covers the arts, archeology, sports and ceremony in the release of the national flag and the flag of Sliven.
Feast of great national and regional importance. Events are visited by many tourists.

The festival is named after Nikolai Triandafilov-Slivenets, issued in 1847 the first church-song collections of Church Slavonic. Organizira ce in the year as part of festivities celebrating the feast of Sliven - October 26, Demetrius.
The festival aims to promote best practice in the Orthodox Church Music and stimulates the creation of a new church choir chants of Bulgarian Composers.
