Despite the global economic crisis and expectations of huge outflow of tourists from smaller destinations Sliven region into account reduction of only 2% in 2009 compared to 2008. In digital terms, this equates to a decrease of 2,342 tourists.
The total number of realized nights in 2009 was 82 700 at the operation of 82 shelter and accommodation with over 10 beds. Hotels in the area are 33 of them in Sliven - 18, Nova Zagora - 8 Kotel is 6, in Tvarditsa there is only one hotel. source: National Statistic Institute
