For a second consecutive year, Nova Zagora Municipality won the prestigious award program of the Green community, founded in 2002 by Aquamat 2000 Ltd in conjunction with Irritrol Systems Europe. Its main objective is the development of green systems of Bulgarian municipalities, assist municipalities in building, urbanization and maintenance of parks, public gardens and sports fields.
At an official ceremony at the Hotel Crystal Palace in the capital, in the presence of Minister of Regional Development and Public Plevneliev Rosen, Minister of Environment and Water Nona Karadjova and other officials from the Mayor of Nova Zagora Nikolay Grozev received a special award for an integrated approach to urban green system. Award presented U.S. ambassador to Bulgaria, his excellency James Worlick. After the official part, the winning mayors launched the so-called. "mayor's grove" by planting saplings of species chestnut and birch in the Doctor's Garden. |
