For the first time Sliven will be the host of a paragliding championship. That said for Darik , Daniela Dimitrova, athlete and one of the organizers. It will start in early September and will be a round of the National Paragliding Championship. There are expected to participate in the race over 60 competitors from across the country on a route and just as much to do demonstrations. The contest will be held in two days. Dimitrova said that Sliven is appropriate for the development of this sport. Favorable places for paragliding flights are places around Karandila, Sinilka, near the villages of Glufishevo, Panaretovo and Kaloyanovo.
